Al-Azhar: The Muslim World’s Bastion of Reaction

I don’t understand why the Western MSM refers to the Al-Azhar as the “most prestigious religious institution in the Muslim World.” The institution is co-opted by Mubarak’s regime, which appoints the Grand Sheikh. The institution is full of medieval theologians, like the so-called “Al-Azhar Scientists Front.” And the new Grand Sheikh starts his tenure by lobbying for more censorship…

I wish to see this institution dissolved…
