In one of the biggest blows to neoliberalism, under heavy pressure from the workers and public opinion, today a Giza court annulled the privatization contract of Egypt’s flagship department store, Omar Effendi… It’s back to the public sector again. A ripple effect is expect, where workers are fighting in other privatized firms in different sectors to renationalize them.
