A video that was shot in June by one of the striking Petrojet workers, where Brigadier General Mamdouh Abbas of the military police is threatening the protesters with seven years in prison. Five workers were detained that day and taken to prison, before a military tribunal handed down a suspended one-year prison sentence.
On the first day of Ramadan, the army and police are now cracking down on the Tahrir sit-in, randomly arresting activists and members of families of the martyrs, tearing down the tents, firing live ammunition into the air.
UPDATE: In the video below, the Muslim Brotherhood declare their support for the police and army’s move against protesters in Tahrir… What a disgrace!

This is the same brigadier general who oversaw the March 9th arrests in Tahrir and the virginity tests conducted on women protesters. He honored us with his presence yesterday in Abbassiya…

A military police brigadier showed up on Friday, trying to convince the protesters to clear the road in front of Maspero. Journalist and activist Rasha Azab, identified him as one of the officers involved in abusing the Tahrir detainees, at the Egyptian Museum.
