The army troops wielding batons and firing in the air dispersed around 300 activists holding iftar, the traditional Ramadan meal, in Tahrir square Friday…
They used to denounce strikes in the past and call for obedience and submission to Mubarak the dictator, today the religious establishment sheikhs are more than happy to lend their services to the ruling SCAF, “calling on Muslims not to protest or stage sit ins during Ramadan.”
On the first day of Ramadan, the army and police are now cracking down on the Tahrir sit-in, randomly arresting activists and members of families of the martyrs, tearing down the tents, firing live ammunition into the air.
UPDATE: In the video below, the Muslim Brotherhood declare their support for the police and army’s move against protesters in Tahrir… What a disgrace!
